Perseus Digital Library

quote [ The Perseus Classics collection began as an integrated collection of materials, textual and visual, on the Archaic and Classical Greek world.
Building on the success of the tools and resources developed for Ancient Greek source materials, the project expanded into the Roman world, with additional art and archaeology materials as well as new collections of Latin texts and tools. ]

Got linked to this by my professor in Roman and Greek mythology (not personally, it was more of a "if anyone can't afford the books, this is also okay to use" thing). Thumb is obviously from Jason and the Argonauts, which I felt was appropriate despite the lack of Perseus himself. Anyway, I'm sure you nerds will enjoy some Classical texts.

Laverne Cox Gets Naked, Exposes Radical Feminist Exclusionism

quote [ When Laverne Cox decided to pose nude for Allure, she knew she was taking a risk. ?Black women are not often told that we?re beautiful unless we align with certain standards,? Cox told Allure. ?Trans women certainly are not told we?re beautiful.?

More than that, trans women and black women, too, are often told that they?re not real women. ]

I read Playboy for the articles! Well-written piece although, for those who know a little about feminism, it shouldn't come as a surprise that TERFs are horrible people, or that TERF even is a thing.

Also, that is an amazing photo.

Let's Get Real About Concept Art

quote [ While I have to accept that people broadly label art created for games and films concept art, including promotional illustrations, it is necessary to get real about what concept art as a craft actually is. ]

Murder by Gaslight

quote [ A compendium of information, resources and discussion on notable nineteenth century American murders.

Walter R. Debbins was shot twice in the back, in broad daylight, on Highland Street in Medford, Massachusetts, on the afternoon of Saturday, March 27, 1897. Though no one saw the murder or heard the gunshots, there was enough traffic on Highland Street that afternoon for the police to precisely pinpoint the time of the shooting to between 1:00 and 1:05. But that was all they could pinpoint; everything else about the crime was shrouded in mystery that grew more dense with each new revelation. ]

Murder mysteries! Always fun.

Please don't get all steampunk-y on this post. Not that it should be called steampunk. Steamsnob, more like it. *shakes fist*

SO MANY GAMES. I figured we could play The Fury of Dracula, but apparently there's no support for that just yet. Maybe I'll create a module, but probably not. Anyway.
