Not really... Mattis was standing grinning right behind Trump as he signed the Muslim ban and then put the pen he singed it with in his pocket. Hopes that he would bring sanity to the Trump White house seem to be greatly exaggerated.

On this particular issue Mattis had been clear- he's opposed to waterboarding and other forms of 'enhanced interrogation'.

Problem is DOD is not the agency that does the torturing that would be the CIA. Trump used Mattis comment about a pack of cigs and a 6 pack as a place where he could maintain his torture works stance at the same time look reasonable.

And I can't see the reasonable man I have heard Mattis describe as smiling put the pen in his pocket after Trump signing what can only be described a Muslim ban. He is or was a 4 star he has to know what that would do to our counter terrorism efforts or our upcoming battle in Syria where we need Muslim forces to fight ISIS...Not seeing a reasonable man.

No, he's not an admin, he's a moderator, as are you and everybody with karma high enough to have their mod permissions enabled. And mookie isn't the only one filtering posts right now, I and quite a few others are doing it too.

There is only one reason to be here and that is the people who come here to discus and inform. Anything else can be done on a much larger scale a lot of other places.
