Koch Foods hires undocumented workers, mistreats them, loses a lawsuit about it, and has ICE deport them to avoid paying the damages

quote [ Hispanic workers at the company’s Morton, Mississippi, chicken processing plant were subjected to touching and sexually suggestive comments, were hit, were charged money for “normal everyday work activities” and faced retaliation after complaining, EEOC alleged.

After immigration authorities rounded up hundreds of workers in a massive sweep at seven Mississippi food processing plants, friends and family members are desperately searching for answers. ]

I guess this is hitting the reset button? I wonder if this just means they start over hiring new undocumented workers with the plan to exploit them. Maybe shuffle shuffle business around so the decree only applies to one model location while they continue business as usual as a tenuously connected subsidiary under a different name.

It should probably be noted that despite the similarities in name and abhorrent business practices, Koch Foods is unrelated to the Koch Brother's Koch Industries.

Thank you. I had made that assumption.

There are, indeed, many of different ones screwing the nation.

It's a viable business plan.

That's a very interesting take on this, and horrible if true but I wouldn't put it past anyone to exploit a several hundred people and then have the government round them up for free. The settlement of the lawsuit suspiciously lines up with ICE's "one year long investigation" but it also sounds like it had been paid already, but it's still possible that this is a "reset" for them even if it's not a payment dodge. I'd like to see the hammer come down on them because this practice seems to be a core tenant of their business model.
