What I Learned by Eating Only Meat for a Month

TL;DR: Diarrhea.

I continued my own experimenting with diet again last fall by trying a combination of keto and intermittant fasting for a couple months. I didn't notice any difference in mood, health, or energy, but I sure did have to urinate a lot (like 10 times a day at the worst of it). I reintroduced carbs into my meals and the problem resolved quickly.

Had he gone longer on that meat-only diet, perhaps he would have experienced and described the early symptoms of scurvy.

I wonder if you can lay your hands on some good muktuk if you need it for the vitamin C. Probably not, I've never seen a muktuk aisle in the supermarket.

There are so many things that can go permanently wrong when you tinker with your own body. I'm very conservative when it comes to fad diets, and I know I'm a bit of a scaredy cat in this respect.

I talked to my doctor about the changes in diet, and followed up with them after about 6 weeks in. She didn't seem concerned, my vitals were normal.

I wss getting roughly 65% of calories from fat, 30 from protein, and 5 from carbs. I kept my carb intake under 30 grams a day. I was also fasting 16 hours a day, with an 8 hour eating window. I believe the excessive urinating was due to my body converting over to using fat for energy, which is also where water is stored. With nowhere else to go, my bladder filled up much more quickly.

I've gone kind of sort of keto, which I really just use to remind myself not to eat garbage, which is generally fairly carb heavy.
