Huh.. There's a place near my my house that offers a gold foil covered soft-serve cone. I thought eating gold in small amounts was okay for you. |

Gold can be quite toxic espically dissolved in "alcohol". Maybe more like aqua regia water down with alcohol watered down with water... When I was younger doing a lab course my teacher used to got annoyed with me everytime the silver cloride came out for experiments.
He was a decent bloke though, we settled with me being allowed to put the chemicals away if I didn't "play" with them without gloves in front of the other students. He was a good teacher, he had a smile rule he didn't rule primary school class no hands up if you need a piss/smoke/minute walk out then return (how work/life is suppose to be). Also experiment days where good he walked in wrote the list of experiments on the board and sat down to read a novel and answer any questions, he didn't care when you arrived when you left as long as the right results were/where (which is it) written on a slip of paper you handed to him before you left. Used to be able to rock up 30minutes before lunch to set up "slower" ones then go to lunch one back set up last experiments to be able to hand him the results as we left for afternoon smoko. Looking back a good teacher to have at 18. /Ramble |

Maybe they died from all the burns to the esophagus and stomach suffered as a result of drinking molten gold.

The trick is to heat your esophagus and stomach up to the temperature of molten gold before you drink the molten gold.
