Fuck These Guys Dot Com

quote [ Have you ever been in an actual bodega? Have you noticed that “mom-and-pop” store is often a literal description of these places and not just a line on your pitch deck to a bunch of “angel investors” who drive Teslas and haven’t called their actual moms or pops in months? ]

Silicon Valley isn't a bunch of libertarians who've discovered European social values. It's a bunch of emotionally-stunted entitled jackasses who think being a grown-ass adult means no one ever tells you what to do. Or as someone once put it, "SF tech culture is focused on solving one problem: What is my mother no longer doing for me?"

I sense your rage but don't quite get it. Are taxi's better than Uber? Are hotels better than AirBNB?

yes. Uber, Lyft and AirBnB bring in amateur workers, give them minimal support, and shift all the blame onto them when things go badly while taking a hefty cut of the profits.

Considering airbnb and uber/lyfts cost as much as their regulated counterparts, where is the benefit to having them again?

Oh right, the gig economy and its self union busting potential.

Personally im gratefull. I use both uber and lift to earn extra income when im not working my current gig or when i'm in between projects, and since i don't go home anymore i just rent it out on air bnb. So now..... wait a minute....

This isn't replacing monolithic anti-competitive big business- it's trying (and failing miserably) to go after small business.

Its wifi enabled and can communicate with your juicero.

I think its great though, since it utilizes machine learning to make stocking decisions you can tell when shits about to get real when shoe laces, chore boy, and glass roses start dominating 2/3rds of the vending space.

The number of people in this area who start up companies just so they can plaster CEO next to their name, online, is amazing.
