Well looks like this is either a story about another Whitehouse leak or shock that this would even cross their minds.

The headline is clickbate, but it does look like this was talked about as an actual strategy. Doesn't shock me as I think this is part of their strategy all along.

I'm not saying this makes it okay, but before you get all riled up you should remember that Obama sent the National Guard to assist with border security back in 2010. An important distinction here is that they were under orders not to arrest anyone crossing the border, but shit like this is important to not ignore. If you had posted the Vox article that your HuffPo article cites, that information would have been provided.

EDIT: Also, I think sanepride is right. This intentional omission of facts and spreading of rumor rather than fact just gives Trump more ammo. Media outlets have NOT learned their lesson -- they're so eager to be the first to jump on a story to get clicks they forget to be journalists.
