We’ve already determined that “Democratic Socialism” is meaningless, just a shiny new term designed to sound slick, while evading any actual definition. However, if the “Big Idea” at the heart of all of this is to move the Democratic party to the left, you’re increasing the odds of a second term for the current incumbent with every step. The Democrats handed Trump the presidency last time out. For the good of the democracy, it would be nice if the party didn’t fuck it up a second time.
