The strategy is to keep it going through the 2018 elections although that could very well backfire. The Stormy stuff was the Plan B for keeping scandal on Trump and Republicans which is why you see it expanding to more targets than Trump.

The thing is, Trump's base doesn't care and nor do many of his opponents. Not even the friends of my g/f that work in academia that I am not allowed to meet, so I'm told. It's all just media filler between commercials.
