“The facts remain facts. Gun control acts on gun violence the way antibiotics act on infections—imperfectly but with massive efficacy.”

There are no facts presented here. Just a poorly drawn analogy.

“The American fixation on the right to own military-style firearms. They don’t have a reason for.”

They do have a reason for it. The seminal ones the Founders had when they drafted the second amendment. Take issue with it if you will, but don’t suggest there has been no reason presented. The notion that the “right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” has been mooted up hill and down dale.

The very least you could do in the light of what happened today is engage the issue with some seriousness.

Read the arguments, and engage them if you can, but don't pretend they don't exist.

They do have a reason. Obviously. The ones the Founders had when they drafted the second amendment. Take issue with them if you will, but don’t suggest there is no reasoning behind it.
