I don't think this kind of digital hoarding is all that unusual. Other than the cp yuck factor, it's not really any different from people back in the Napster era downloading hundreds of albums they might never actually get around to listening to (guilty!) or amassing a huge backlog of unplayed games after a couple of Steam sales and bundle deals. I doubt he actually fapped to or even looked at all 34k images, but grabbing them all while they were still available probably seemed like a good idea at the time.
