Just give it to them. Let it pass.
The moderate 3 or 4 Republicans and the Democrats will get zero credit with Trump Nation for trying to mitigate the more horrific parts of the bill. “It’s not working because we didn’t get everything we wanted in it” will be said quite loudly, and those who voted for Trump will agree with that, because that’s what they do. If, however, the bill passes in its entirety, there will be misery, on a massive scale. The people will suffer. If this bill passes with no input from the left, the cause-and-effect relationship will be as clear as it ever can be. Just let it pass. It may be the only way to open their eyes. Or it may not be enough. In which case, we’ll finally know exactly where we stand. |

Saw this on another forum :
18 U.S. Code § 1512 - Tampering with a witness, victim, or an informant (b) Whoever knowingly uses intimidation, threatens, or corruptly persuades another person, or attempts to do so, or engages in misleading conduct toward another person, with intent to— (1) influence, delay, or prevent the testimony of any person in an official proceeding; (2) cause or induce any person to— (A) withhold testimony, or withhold a record, document, or other object, from an official proceeding; Looks like a duck to me. |

Some analysis on the witness tampering/intimidation angle from WaPo:
Could Trump’s White House tapes ruse actually get him in legal trouble? tl;dr/paywalled- technically a case can be made on witness tampering, especially considering statements made by Gingrich and Trump himself suggesting the whole point behind the tapes ruse was to influence Comey's testimony. But any such charges, like the obstruction of justice charge, are at the discretion of Congress. So, probably not gonna happen. |

I'm predicting it'll pass the Senate, then get bogged down again in the House. Freedom Caucus and moderates who got cajoled into passing it last time will have second thoughts.
If it does make it to Trump's desk, this is a total recipe for insurance death spiral, as premiums skyrocket and people lose incentive to maintain coverage. Blue states may maintain something that resembles Obamacare, but everywhere else insurance markets will crash and millions will be left with nothing. And that's when we start talking single payer... |

It depends when the CBO score comes out before or after the vote?
Taking a vote without a score on something this big should be criminal. |
sanepride said @ 4:37am GMT on 24th Jun
CBO score I believe is expected early next week, but what difference will that make to the Republicans and Trump? Despite the CBO saying 20+million would lose insurance the House still manged to pass the first version. They'll make some excuse that the CBO score is wrong but the truth is they don't give a fuck about the CBO or the people who'll lose insurance.

It takes three GOP no votes to stop this.
There is one definite no, Two leaning no, and a few worried about their own survival in states where they have taken the medicaid expansion.
It will come to a vote. It will either pass by 1 or lose by 6 to 8.
