B.C. Green and NDP parties strike a deal for ‘stable’ minority government

quote [ The B.C. Green Party has reached an agreement to support the NDP party and "create a stable minority government." ]

If you ever thought your one vote didn't matter, have a look at what's been going on in BC lately. It came down to one riding and 189 votes, and a difference of 1566 in the popular vote between the two main parties.

I actually voted green for the first time. They had the most mature platform, I thought.

I agree, but not voting strategically in all but a few ridings almost elected Kinder Morgan.

Hopefully that'll be a moot point in the next election.

East Van myself...it's always NDP.

That may go in the wind. If they really do put forth proportional representation, a lot of new parties will pop up.

How much have unions done for East Van?

Oh, not a lot recently. And I suspect that the area will head to the right as property values head north of the $1M mark.

Interest bit of info I just heard from a cop: It's now legal to pitch a tent in any city park! You just have to strike camp before 07:00h (might be 08:00h).
