Consider something like the Mulford Act, which was backed by the NRA. Here's hoping modern 2nd amendment enthusiasts stick to their convictions when the people bearing the arms for security are not white.

I have long thought young, black American males should all buy assault rifles, demand admittance to the NRA en masse and, once accepted, head down to the local GOP branch and demand to be signed up there as well. That should get some attention.
And yes, they would be bearing a big risk as well as arms, but I think it might be a point worth making (although I doubt I would have the front for it if I was in their shoes). Here we are. We have our permits. We have our guns. We are standing right next to you. Let's talk policy. |

I recently worked at the NRA national convention where I saw thousands of black NRA members in attendance. I also met quite a few members of Black Guns Matter.

At the recent Atlanta convention?
 source I don't know if "thousands" at a convention that boasted an attendance of more than 81,000 is much more than a drop in the bucket. |

I didn't say they were the majority, but there is a growing percentage that is both welcome and encouraged.

Finally got around to watching it this past weekend. Since we're in the midst of a 60's redux, it's well worth the watch.
