“Nationalism with an indoor voice,”

quote [ Media Figures Tout Trump’s ‘Presidential’ Shift, But His Divisive Policies Remain The Same

PUNDITS LOWER THE BAR
GUSH: ‘PRESIDENTIAL’ TRUMP ]

We have seen this before...YAAA! Trump was able to read a prepared speech without making a stupid comment..yaaa.

Policy, what there is of it, didn't change. But I think this is the first good day he has had since being named president.

I can't believe even Van Jones was suckered by the cynical exploitation of the SEAL's widow to try to alter the narrative that he died in anything other than a botched raid. Never mind the 23 civilians, including nine children who also died over a questionable intel haul. This moment, being touted as so sensitive and emotional was just shameless propaganda, obviously spurred by CPO Owens's father's vocal criticisms of Trump, refusing to meet with him at Dover AFB and calling for an investigation.

I think this was far more disrespectful than The Khan family flap at the convention but this time everybody stood and cheered.
sanepride said @ 10:14pm GMT on 1st Mar
Well compared to how he handled the Khans this was strategically brilliant. I half expected him to go after the father, obviously he's getting (and heeding) better advice.
bbqkink said @ 10:22pm GMT on 1st Mar
Well I thought it was a result of H.R. McMaster taking over from Flynn but maybe not. He sure didn't heed this piece of advice.

National security adviser rejects the term “radical Islamic terrorism”

Then trump made it a point of emphasis last night then I head that H.R. doesn't even have walk-in authority ... so maybe its not him.

Sotero's drone strikes didn't provoke them at all?

But what you're really saying is that we shouldn't confront ISIS because they might attack us?

You really are a pussy!

We're thirsty for presidential leadership, desperate. Think of it that way, grateful for any parched sip, rather than accurate but ineffectually descriptive lowering of the bar. Finally, any relief, some glimmer we may chase of maybe hope at our end, rather than a lazy sigh of good enough.

Wow this is uncanny....

Trump Changes Tone, But Not Tune
The substance of Pres. Trump's message remains the same, even though it was packaged differently last night compared to his CPAC speech last week.

Look it up everybody hated the Cpac speech ...He said the same thing last night and they loved it...

Russiagate just got a lot more serious-
Sessions met with Russian envoy twice last year, encounters he later did not disclose

If Republican leaders don't call for a special prosecutor now, they might as well swear allegiance to Mother Russia.

UNDER OATH

Meeting that took place at the RNC...nothing political discussed there...sure at the RNC, why would we think that was political.

As they say, "you can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter."

[Aside - I am aware that with sufficient effort and preparation you can indeed polish a turd.]

I don't know if there's an entry that discussed the "Nobody knew healthcare could be so complicated" comment, but what really stood out to me was his choice of the word nobody. Would Trump fail a Sally-Anne test? It'd seem to explain so much if Trump is mildly autistic and doesn't understand different people have different knowledge.
steele said @ 8:24pm GMT on 2nd Mar
Anytime Trump says 'Nobody' just replace it with 'I'. He's not autistic, he's narcissistic. Passing the buck, spreading the blame.
the circus said @ 9:08pm GMT on 2nd Mar
That's kind of my point. What if what we're all chalking up to ego is actually something in the autism range?
