quote [ Retro Pi Two Player Arcade Table ]
This is my mini project I'm working on while I learn to weld better.
there are a couple good walkthroughs: http://lifehacker.com/how-to-create-the-ultimate-tech... for the general gist and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcsKNryPAzw to see a video. That and my pictures should get you through it. The hardest part so far is setting up the raspberry pie. But that's essentially all you need. You can plug controllers into that. The parts list to get the raspberry pi set up is:
The case: Official Raspberry Pi 3 Case - Red/White Sold by: PHOTOTECH ~$8 The micro SD card: SanDisk Ultra 32GB microSDHC UHS-I Card with Adapter, Grey/Red, Standard Packaging (SDSQUNC-032G-GN6MA)

Love my retro pi, except I just took one of the off the shelf kits and use my PS4 controller with it.
Fastest thing I've ever built, from unboxing to playing it was maybe an hour? |

I also love my retropie. I loaded it with the best NES, SNES, Genesis, 32X, Turbografx-16 and Gameboy Advance games. I got two Buffalo Classic USB Gamepads to use with it.

Thats one of things that stymie me, is the fact that when i see a torrent for roms its every game for that system. I don't want an unwieldy menu to sift through, but i also dont want to miss out on something great. Now Im not asking you to upload a zip, but if you can clue a guy into what you consider the best of I'd appreciate it.

First of all, get your roms here https://www.emuparadise.me/roms-isos-games.php.
As far as the best games, that site lists the most downloaded and highest rated games for each system. You see the lists when you click on each game platform. Other than that, get the ones that you've heard of. Here's a list of the games I downloaded for each system: |

Is the MAME emulator still a thing or is that oldhat like Jerkcity comics?

I'll let you know :p
(I think it's a thing but it gets wonky on timing for some games) |

Nice, I got me a pi-zero and not figured out what I'm going to do with it.

A friend at work is making almost the same thing, but not in a coffee table, more of a stand alone rectangular box he can take to anyone's house and plug into their tv.
Also using a Raspberry Pi and a Mame emulator too. Although, he also currently renovating his house, so I don't like the chance of him getting it finished in 2017... maybe I should hi-jack his side project... |

There are a lot of really good YouTube walk throughs. I've seen the Retro-Pi-Box style online. Totally go for it!

Good to see you are keeping your intrests up. Not sure of the welding referance. Does the project have to do with welding, or is welding another interest and the project just interesting busywork till you achieve the capability?
