Update: Story of Child Dying in Santa's Arms Unconfirmed

quote [ We contacted several hospitals in Knoxville for comment. Both the East Tennessee Children's Hospital and the University of Tennessee Medical Center confirmed that a visit like the one Schmitt-Matzen described did not occur at their respective facilities. ]

I still haven't read the story. When I saw the title and people's reaction to it, I was immediately skeptical. "Fake News" is a trending topic, and yet a story like this breezes right through.

"Carl! What do I do with this dead kid?!"
"How did you wind up with a dead kid?"
"That's not important, Carl! How do I explain it?!"
"You got a Santa costume?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Let me go start a website and we can both make out like bandits."

So that miracle where St. Nicholas resurrected the dead kids from the butcher's curing barrel-

Also unconfirmed.

The butcher seized a knife straitway,
And did the little creatures slay.
He put them in a tub of brine,
In pieces small as they were swine.

I want to believe.
