Anybody watch the livestreams tonight? Completely unprovoked attack by the police on protesters, chasing them into neighborhood side streets, blocking them in, demanding they disperse, then shooting at them when they are unable to comply. I'm glad these videos exist, because the cops are claiming they only started firing when protesters threw Molotov cocktails. No Molotov cocktails were actually thrown.

A lot of disturbing and fucked-up stuff going on here, but the FAA restriction isn't really that unusual. It's only up to 3000 ft, and likely just to allow for operation of police choppers. The FAA is mainly concerned with civil aviation safety, the idea is to prevent possible collisions with small aircraft.
It should be noted that the Justice Department is initiating a civil rights investigation, so the federal authorities may likely be the main instrument of justice here, since local law enforcement is being highly uncooperative to say the least.

Cops were terrible at covering their tracks. This took no hacking or illegal activity to find and collate, as they left up their linkedin pages and city council minutes. Through processes of elimination, the most likely shooters are Officer Matt Miller or Officer Joshua Mace, as they are in the right age range for 6 years of experience.

Too bad Anonymous has been failing to name any of the correct people so far, or I would be giving them this information to leak.

What's creating a lot of unfortunate and ill-thought out comparisons is the Bundy Ranch. The FAA established a no-fly zone over the area, though I think that was because the Bundy-ites were posting aerial photos of the Bureau of Land Management local worksites and they feared for the safety of BLM employees. I tried to find details, but nearly all the results were for blogs that were predicting the Bundy Ranch would be the next Waco, Armageddon, and Second Civil War.

Yes, some cops bring down murderers, kidnappers, rapists, organized criminals and bank robbers. Other cops are murderers, kidnappers, rapists, organized criminals and bank robbers. If the first group of cops actually were doing their jobs, the second group would be in jail. Instead, they go on administrative leave while an "internal investigation" is conducted. Once the public attention dies down, they get their jobs back with no legal repercussions. In the cases where a cop is actually brought to trial, there is a huge bias in favor of finding them innocent, regardless of the evidence. This means that even your hero cops who are doing their jobs are still criminals, because they let their corrupt coworkers go free.

Furthermore, the police system in America currently has virtually zero oversight. Take the Ferguson incident. Who is responsible for keeping the riots under control? The very same people who sparked the riot. Who engage in spurious and uncalled for violence, again with no repercussions. Luckily, the FBI is stepping in for this case, but they don't do this normally.

Let's move on to racial discrimination. Look at drug use rates vs arrest rates by race. Look at violent crime rates vs arrests by race. Look at pretty much fucking anything vs arrest rates by race. Both the fucking police and the judicial system are complicit in this egregious violation of civil rights. While were on the topic of discrimination, go look at all those same stats by income. Now go look at rape reporting vs rape investigations. The police are a tool of oppression against minorities, women, and the poor.

So yes, fuck the police.

Forgot another point. Violent vs non-violent crime arrests. Police made more arrests for marijuana possession than for violent crime. Which also ties back to drug arrest discrepancies by race. Add to this their long history of violence against social deviance -- take a look at the Stonewall incident. The police do not have the people's safety in mind -- they're only looking to enforce their own social norms, which don't include anyone who isn't at least middle class, white, straight, and Christian.

To be fair, these particular injustices are due as much if not more to an unjust legal system, draconian laws, and prosecutorial overreach than police abuse. The police in these cases are mostly 'only following orders' (though yes, some follow their orders with greater zeal when darker complexions are involved).

It's a system, everyone plays a part, including voters who elect lawmakers and mayors who keep the cycle going.

The funny part is that this totally isn't needed because all the new media choppers are busy flying over Robbin Williams estate.

Well here is my take:

The police shut down a protest before it had a chance to be peaceful, or violent. One can not have a peaceful protest if one can not EVEN protest.

They then denied access to the area all news media. They then closed the airspace (for low flying objects) which will keep out news choppers.

As it stands right now, there is a witness that says the police murdered his friend. No video evidence, and the police claim the victim attacked them trying to get their gun.

Regardless of Mike Brown's innocence this is the question people should be asking: Did the police shoot a surrendering suspect? Because both the victims friends and other witnesses claim he was on his knees, with his hands up. Regardless of the guilt or innocence of Mr. Brown, this question is vital.

Now, take this into account...

The police did not take statements from witnesses. We don't know how many people saw what. However, they have locked down the area, and have no media oversight. They have excuse to arrest anyone they like due to rioting. How can we be sure that potential witnesses aren't being bullied, arrested without cause, or even jailed?

Or shot and left somewhere out of the way.

Given the footage that's come out on social media so far, I'll be very interesting to see what comes out in the following weeks...
