Police Union to 49ers: Police might boycott home games

quote [ The Santa Clara police union sent a letter to the 49ers warning that if they do not discipline Colin Kaepernick, "it could result in police officers choosing not to work at your facilities." ]

Seriously, FUCK Santa Clara County and its gestapo ass police officers. I grew up here. The police in this area are all mega fucking dicks that take their powers to the next level.

This is the same damn county that organized a meeting among the DEA and all of the local cops to decide how they were going to keep raiding marijuana dispensaries in direct violation to President Bush's request to leave them alone. Not to mention in direct violation of the prop 215 laws.

So for reals. All of these assholes can go fuck themselves. This includes my uncle the police sergeant in San Jose.

I guess I should also mention that my mom was a cop on this very force back in 1990. She stuck around for a year until harrassment from fellow officers made her quit. She reported it to a higher up and they proceeded to punish her by sending her on increasingly dangerous calls, all while denying her requests for back up.

I support labor unions in most cases, but police unions are reliably and predictably stupid in their response to BLM, or really, any kind of criticism.

Nothing like those who have sworn to uphold the Constitution going apeshit and punishing a guy for exercising his right under it. Especially if they guy is, you know, not quite one of us.

He has the right not to stand. The officers have a right to not perform off-duty work. They're not upset about him not standing, they are upset about the comments he has made about them. The union is not mandating this, just giving a heads up that it is a possibility.

No, they are making an explicit threat of violence, and a direct abrogation of their duty to uphold the constitution.

If I said "That's a nice house of yours, it'd be a shame if someone burnt it down," I'd be up on charges. The union rep should not pass go, should not collect $200, they should be escorted directly to gaol.

I don't know about the municipal laws there but if this is a public stadium then they are (by law) obligated and can be prosecuted.
Also most cases of stadium security the security is either private or off duty officers who are well paid for their troubles.
I don't know how these cops will feel being told not to make money.

Obviously though the upper echelons of the police department here need their asses fired.

How about Warren v. District of Columbia?

Which, i believe was upheld by that piece of shit Scalia, about 10 years ago

That's actually a really good way to immediately turn public opinion against them.

I think they legally added the "may"/"could".

I'm very tired but it seems like everyone respects the shit out of everyone else but is unhappy... sounds like politics at this point. But I kind of want a pair of the socks.
