Assuming there was a criminal offense in there, the Republicans pulled a Mark Furhman by making it a witch hunt. Even some of their own committee members admitted the investigation was personal and political, and even with that level of partisan hate, they couldn't come up with any indictable offenses. They spent more time and money than was spent investigating the JFK Assassination, Watergate, or Whitewater, and they couldn't even manage one charge.

They tried to play a crooked game of poker with marked cards and they still lost. Now that we've seen the tactics involved, no one (who wasn't already convinced of her guilt) is going to trust anything the committee says as true.

Of course this has been the recurring pattern with the Clintons and their political enemies since the '90s. Republicans launch some politically-motivated investigation into some perceived scandal, Bill and/or Hillary end up beating the rap (making their persecutors look like petty fools), further adding to their arrogance which of course leads to doing something stupid (but not necessarily illegal- like the email issue), prompting yet another politically-motivated investigation. It's kind of vicious circle.

My faith in the American system is gone. When this bitch can get away with this magnitude of dishonesty and straight up perjury....it cements in my mind that there are two systems of justice in this country and we, the little unwashed masses, are not part of it.

I have friends that were straight up dismissed from service for simple mishandling of classified information on TRAINING EXERCISES. Here she is sending out real world sensitive information over unclassified networks and she gets a pass.

Ms. Broadwell had no clearance to receive that information.

General Petraeus knew the information he gave her was classified, he knew she wasn't cleared to receive it, and he gave it to her anyway. That was a violation of 18 USC § 798, and he should have been charged with that. Instead, he ended up pleading guilty to 18 USC § 1924.

Petraeus got off light. Others have gone to jail for what he did.

Nothing that Secretary Clinton did was even close. Everyone with whom she exchanged classified information was cleared to receive that information. The cases aren't remotely comparable.

Well, she's married to an ex-president, worked for the sitting president, and is probably the next president.

If you work in the FBI, I don't think you want to pick a fight you can't 100% win against the next president. I'd also assume if they had a viable case, there are plenty of people who would jump at the chance to take her down.

Basically I'm also of the mind that, for the large part, the clintons probably don't take a shit without running it past a team of lawyers regarding probability or prosecution first. They really remind of me the Roman political system where you basically have to stay in office until you die to avoid the legal prosecution from your enemies.
