Oh, I love all three of them dearly. Which is why I wouldn't do such a thing to them as filming them growing up and putting it on the internet.

1. I echo Abdul's sentiment. If this turned out to be an ugly kid, would the project keep going? I mean, even a parent can tell the difference between a gorgeous kid and an average or worse looking kid.

Exactly. My kids are nice looking, but would I subject them to the scrutiny of the world in this way? Hell no. If they want to do it themselves, that's their choice- but I wouldn't make that choice for them.

This is the parents' egos, pure and simple. They want to show off the Beautiful Child they created. Proud as I am of my kids, I couldn't bring myself to that level of egotism.

I know a few folks who keep an old Mac G3 around, just for running Elastic Reality. That was some sweet morphing power. You can do similar things with 3D packages and careful UV mapping of video footage onto strategically divided 2D planes with blend shaders, but it's a pain in the ass to set up.
