Rep. Duncan Hunter to plead guilty in campaign finance scandal, leave Congress

quote [ After years of denials and claims he was the target of a political witch hunt, Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Alpine, is scheduled to appear in federal court Tuesday morning to plead guilty in a sweeping campaign finance investigation.

The announcement was posted on the U.S. District Court docket Monday morning, then KUSI aired an interview with Hunter in which he said he will plead guilty to one of the 60 criminal charges against him. He suggested that he is likely to spend time in custody. ]

The district he repped is a real piece of work. If he ran from prison, he would win. Nice pic - love the smiling cameraman and how hunter looks like he just pulled a six day face train...

The first two members of Congress to endorse Donald Trump for president in 2016 are officially convicted criminals. Hunter and Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY) both backed Trump in February of that year.

Duncan Hunter Jr.

He, smartly, dropped the Jr a while back because his father was the rep for that district before him. So, people just have been voting for Duncan Hunter for like 50 years or something.

Was there ever a politician who claimed to be the victim of a political witch hunt, who wasn't guilty?

I am 99.99999% sure there is shit to uncover about her, but Cliton saying Trump's renewed interest in her emails as a witch hunt is probably pretty accurate as those emails almost certainly don't have anything.

But that's all I've got.

This whole mess started a couple of years ago. When he got indicted this year, the first thing that he did was throw his wife right under the bus.

Back in June, she pleaded guilty to conspiring with her husband to "knowingly and willingly" convert campaign funds for personal use. She just cut a deal with the prosecutor and agreed to testify for the prosecution. Hence the quick guilty plea.

Who needs reality TV in Southern California?

You are hearing about her again, because Trump and some of his GOP supporters in Congress have started pushing the old conspiracy theory that Ukraine tried to meddle in the 2016 election to help Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
