White House Letter to Speaker Pelosi, Et Al. 10.08.2019

quote [ Put simply, you seek to overturn the results of the 2006 election and deprive the American people of the president they have freely chosen. ]

No more meetin's! No more discussions! No more Sollozzo tricks! You give 'em one message.

so civil war breaks out in 2020 when trump loses the election and attempts to use forces loyal to him to enact the true coup he's been planning

or

civil war breaks out in 2024 when trump gets forced out of office and attempts to use forces loyal to him to thwart the rule of law

This is my general talking point with people. He lied and said the election was rigged when he -won-.

Do you think he's not going to do that if he loses? Already paramilitary groups have pledged their support. Excited for the shitshow.

I've been saying this for ages too.

It'll start with one Maga-hat wearing uneducated redneck firing the first shot, probably at some innocent democrat congress member and things will completely spiral out of control from that point on.

I can see Trump refusing to hand over power and him calling on his base to take up arms.

Within weeks America will be at full scale civil war and Putin will be sat in Moscow laughing his socks off at what he's achieved.

at that point, putin and china could just intercede and divide us in half.

perhaps this has been their plan over the last 30 years?

world war 3 started with the ending of the cold war. the actual physical conflicts appear in signs of skirmishes such as current day syria. the majority of it has been fought economically and informationally.

china has the econ side and russia has the info side. evidence can be seen in the way China has attempted to steal any tech we have as it relates to industry and production. look at Titanium for instance.
Russia started its disinfo campaign against us back in the early 80s. first evidenced in the vaccination scare (yes, it can all be traced back to them), which was initiated as a way to encourage people to question the governement.

"All of this violates the Constitution, the rule of law and every past precedent" (Emphasis theirs)

"For his part, President Trump took the unprecedented step of providing the public transparency... (Emphasis mine)

So. Um. Is breaking precedent a Good Thing or a Bad Thing? Because I'm kinda confused now.

Why confused? It's the same thing in both sentences.

The fact that the second sentence contains a lie is irrelevant.

Hey. I thought that we had an unspoken agreement not to make posts about, or indeed even discuss the latest macabre antics of president you-know-who.
Hugh E. said @ 3:49pm GMT on 9th Oct
I did not hear of this agreement.
mechanical contrivance said @ 3:51pm GMT on 9th Oct
That's because it's unspoken, of course.

You would be surprised how many unspoken agreements you are subject to.

Reminds me of when I was in school ( in NC) and we were told that there was a law regarding "the heinous and unspeakable crime against nature" but no one could tell us what it was.

Dumping trash in the wilderness, I think.

I fear another four years of dumpsterdom.

And if in fact he loses the electoral college, I fear violence and destruction will tear this nation apart. It will be four years of chaos more destructive than the four we would have experienced at that point. Even with a dem prez.

Putin has won. He's upset the entire world order, and the GOP is right behind him with steve bannon's ideology : Destroy the status quo in order to create a new utopia. And it's happening before our very eyes in slow motion.
Hugh E. said @ 1:57am GMT on 12th Oct
Well, that got dark.

I don't necessarily disagree with your assessment. But remember

Most voters voted against Trump.
Most likely voters support impeachment AND removal from office.
Even Fox News (until very recently) is veering away from Trump.
Republican senators (OK, three - to date) are kinda sorta maybe a little distancing themselves.
The point being most Americans are not happy with the current situation.

I don't say this to comfort you. This is no time to be comfortable. But it is no time to give up hope. There's more of us than them.
C18H27NO3 said @ 6:06pm GMT on 13th Oct
Yeah. That's sensible. But irreparable damage has been done, and I don't foresee a smooth transition of power. We've experienced a paradigm shift, just like we saw it with the financial crisis of 2007. Neither of which is benefiting most of society. We'll survive dumpster, but major changes for the worse are in store for our future.
knumbknutz said @ 4:24pm GMT on 16th Oct
My theory...we end up with someone 10 times as bad in 2024. In 2028 trump is a fond memory by all Americans, and Ellen DeGeneres is hanging out with him at trump plaza...
