quote [ If someone does fall on one and it?s pointed in the wrong direction, serious injury can occur. It seems to me these metal straw should not be used with any form of lid that holds them in place. It seems the main problem here is if the lid hadn?t been in place the straw would have moved away. ]
The IRONy of this is killing me.

There is a company advertising all-natural drinking straws made from a breed of stiff grass. I asked them, "So your straws are made of... straw?"

Most people don't routinely put scissors or screwdrivers close to their face. As someone who almost chipped a tooth on one of these, I would recommend the silicone ones.

When we fall we tend to fling our hands up to catch ourselves/protect our face. (Kind of moot, since having it go through the neck or chest could be just as fatal.) If she was carrying a knife and/or fork on a plate when she fell, this could have happened. Carrying scissors to the other room. Tools to the garage.
Falling on a metal object killed her. But yeah I've seen enough Final Destination to use silicone straws. |

Trees should come with warning labels, too. Those tiny branches are death traps waiting to be walked into.

Aside from the pun, what's ironic about the article? We aren't banning plastic straws for health and safety reasons.

I mean, we are, just not these health and safety reasons.
