Tucker, Laura Ingraham and Hannity represent the Fox Axis of Evil - as much as I am for open discourse, I hate to see tools like him posted here. Not because I am afraid of the points he may make, but for the years of lies and hateful views he has fed to the country, and the division and ignorance that it has resulted in.
Also - why did you post this video specifically? It seemed to me a rebuke of Romney over his recent anti-trump op-ed versus a direct hit on the current administration - with a rallying cry for lower class men. So what? |

Oh shoot, that was the video posted on Youtube the day he made the remarks, so assumed it was the monologue the article is about. Should have looked at it more closely. Guess that's a -1 Ignorant for me!

Ben Shapiro wrote in National Review that Carlson’s monologue sounded far more like Sens. Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren than, say, Ronald Reagan.

Some of what he says is a total 180 of Reagan's policies. Agreeing with a 70-80% tax on the rich would start to return us to pre-Reagan Taxes and completely do away with the whole "Trickle Down" ideal.
I'm seriously surprised that a Host of a Conservative Talk Show would be agreeing with such a Leftist point of view. Its honestly refreshing. |

I gave Shapiro a shot, listened to what he had to say, and even found myself agreeing with parts of his reasoning, but ultimately see him as an arrogant reactionary who likes pissing on anyone that disagrees with his opinions. He fuels partisan tribalism more than he offers intelligent discussion. All the same reasons I dislike Bill Maher.

Tucker Carlon's and The Right's history in light of this article I read earlier today (though it is from last year) makes this speech seem a little ominous.
[late 19th and early 20th century] Right-wing nationalist movements promising to protect people from the pernicious influence of foreigners and markets arose, and frightened, disoriented, and displaced people responded.... [Italian] Fascists promised to foster national unity, prioritize the interests of the nation above those of any particular group, and promote Italy’s stature internationally. The fascists also appealed to Italians’ desire for social security, solidarity, and protection from capitalist crises. They promised therefore to restore order, protect private property, and promote prosperity but also shield society from economic downturns and disruption. Fascists stressed that wealth entailed responsibilities as well as privileges, and should be administered for the benefits of the nation. It is worrisome that nowCarlson and his ilk are troubled what is happening to their "fellow Americans", and who does he consider "our families"? |
