quote [ In Canada, more than 500 doctors and residents, as well as over 150 medical students, have signed a public letter protesting their own pay raises.
"We, Quebec doctors who believe in a strong public system, oppose the recent salary increases negotiated by our medical federations," the letter says. The group say they are offended that they would receive raises when nurses and patients are struggling. ]

The Blues are paying a roughly 50% premium to hire physicians to deny care compared to what a physician can make in private practice based on their reimbursement rates in one specialty I am familiar with in my state. You could double all healthcare workers incomes and not touch the amount of money that is going out the door in big pharma rebates to insurance companies. The system is broken and it is about big money not healthcare.

I do have a problem with insurance company executive compensation, making several times what most doctors do, and they make more in bonuses the more people they deny care to.
