Brand New Intifada

quote [ The leader of Hamas has called for a new uprising against Israel after US President Donald Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. ]

Regardless of how you feel about Israel or Palestine, this is an unforced error with lasting consequences.

It really, really makes you wonder if trump has the insight of a walnut. I mean... sure, we already wondered this for a good while, but this is such an unnecessary opening of yet another pandora's box, probably only serving the weapons industry and a hand full of politicians.

You are insulting walnuts. But who's reporting anything about the FBI investigation now? How much coverage is there about Mullers paperwork he now has from Deutsche bank. HHis people are looking over his bank accounts. It is only a matter of time before Trump and his entire family is indicted.

All the better to drum up trouble in Israel and WW3 in North Korea.

After all, Dying will keep everyone occupied during the Christmas break.

I'd more inclined to be critical if the peace process had actually gone anywhere constructive in the last twenty years. It hasn't. Israel does what it wants, the rest of the Middle East and the world busies itself with other things.

You can either view Trump's decision as a long overdue acknowledgement of the realities on the ground, of as a dramatic way to break things .. perhaps in order to fix them. Perhaps it will make things worse, but I honestly think it stands a better chance of ultimately moving the needle in a positive way for the Palestinians than an endless stalemate sliding inexorably in Israel's favor.

That was a really nice, positive spin. For me, it's meant to goad his enemies and islam into acting irrationally and emotionally. Just like poking Kimmie boy with threats and insults. If dumpster had his way, this would incite isis and other extremist groups to attack the USA. Then agent orange can slam shut the US borders - which is what his side wants - and send more troops to the Middle east because war "unifies" the country. He desperately needs unification in light of sexual harassment and russia. And just like bushie, they think war and it's aftermath stimulates the economy. It's also a win- win because it will also slam the door to both legal and illegal immigrants. It also appeases the evangelical right. More feathers in his cap.

Until the United States christian right makes israel take responsibility, nothing is going to change the dynamic or the arrogance of Israeli leadership. The US congress stands behind the notion of Israel and all is stands for, and THAT is what is hampering the peace process. Take away the $3.2B in aid annually and we'll see how the welfare state fares with only German payments to pay for their military.

Dumpster does things in order to manipulate politically for his benefit. It's how he used the basketball players in china. He publicly took credit for bringing the players back home to manipulate the narrative. And it worked. His approach is real estate. Remember that. Pressure the buyer or seller into bad decisions and fabricate a reality in a transactional business. This is just another manipulative tool in the ultimate goal to bring down the establishment and replace it with one of only conservative values.

“Regardless of how you feel about Israel or Palestine, this is an unforced error with lasting consequences”

That’s untrue on the face of it. Many people will applaud this decision. But more importantly, politicians who make unambiguous election promises, and then keep those promises upon election, should be applauded, not derided. I wonder what system you’re advocating when you argue against this basic tenant of democracy.

Most. Reluctant. Upmod. Ever.

But the comment is right. This is a thing Trump said on the campaign trail that he would do. Still, he was given the office of president.

As he often quoted "Oh, shut up, silly woman ... you knew I was a snake before you took me in."

This puts an end of the US being an abetter in Middle East peace. We have given up any control of the peace process and may have ended any chance of a two state solution...the only hope for lasting peace...so ya Trump just screwed the pooch.

The only thing is that happened is some "The end is nigh" religious nutball fells like they helped to bring the world one day closer to the rapture.
