Police ‘terrified’ by red ‘It’ balloons tied to grates

quote [ A red balloon is the calling card of Pennywise, the sewer-dwelling, child-eating clown in Stephen King’s horror novel “It.” The hotly anticipated movie version opens in theaters Friday. ]

Is it legal when a movie studio pays a local police station for viral marketing?

Best viral marketing since the 2007 Boston Mooninite panic.

If that's all it takes to terrify cops, we're boned.

Also, im about to go on a red balloon tying spree!

Said the little Fish hiding behind his screen filled with internets.

Invite to SF still stands.
Fish said @ 4:17am GMT on 7th Sep
Invitation declined again, as it was in private messages where you made sexual advances to me.
rylex said @ 4:22am GMT on 7th Sep
Well, I would offer to come see your home town and how you run shit.

But I doubt you're about to offer to take me out to a nice dinner and show me around the appalachians
Fish said @ 12:48pm GMT on 7th Sep
Zero interest.

"How I run shit" or how anyone runs shit is irrelevant. The implication is that you are somehow superior in your way of living and I am inferior, and that I (or anyone) just needs to be educated (by you).

I reject the premise (again).
rylex said @ 4:02pm GMT on 7th Sep
But see friend Fish.

You do in fact need to be educated. Because you are in denial about how shit really goes down in the world. You have cultured a way of thinking in which you promulgate a fearful (and ignorant) way of viewing that which you have no clue about. This is why you support hateful rhetoric under the guise of "supporting free speech".

If you aren't intelligent enough to see this, then it further indicates your dire need to get out from behind your computer screen and actively experience the difference in the world around you.
lilmookieesquire said @ 4:37am GMT on 8th Sep
It's not about intelligence it's about, perhaps, exposure to different things and different experiences?

The thing I like about cities is the same thing I like about SE- the anonymity you. You can get lost there. No one knows your business. It's like the Sinatra song "I've been terribly lone and lost in Manhattan" the Bay Area has its own charms. So does wherever fish lives.

I always liked the band Cracker. It strikes a nice balance. But I digress.

I like the Bay Area but it has its share of faults. (That's an earthquake pun)

We learned it from watching your nazi homies back in dubya dubya 2.

Ps. What prescription are your glasses? I'm curious if they make a lens specifically for looking down one's nose at the world perpetually, figured you would be the expert in this area.
Fish said @ 1:26am GMT on 9th Sep
This Nazi narrative, like the race card, loses meaning the more you use it.

And let's not forget who the Nazis really were: enemies of personal freedom who envisioned a Utopia that they alone could build. Kinda like today's leftists, no?

rylex said[1] @ 2:23am GMT on 9th Sep
No.

You would realize this if your iq was higher than your shoe size
Fish said @ 2:14pm GMT on 9th Sep
Searing comeback. What are you, 12 years old?
rylex said @ 3:50pm GMT on 9th Sep
Searing enough that your dumb ass couldn't muster a proper retort, and given the one you did manage, I say mine was proven correct
Dienes said @ 10:23pm GMT on 7th Sep
Yo, can I take you up on this trip to SF? This weekend, perhaps? :-p
rylex said @ 10:53pm GMT on 7th Sep
If you're gonna be in town, I would be honored to treat you to a meal at say.... Tsunami?
lilmookieesquire said @ 4:37am GMT on 8th Sep
Hey you jerks, not gonna invite me?
damnit said @ 3:08pm GMT on 7th Sep
You could be doing nothing and scare the shit out of them, shooting you.
cb361 said @ 4:11pm GMT on 7th Sep
The article says that the police reaction was tongue-in-cheek.
ithaqua10 said @ 7:14am GMT on 8th Sep
having seen the movie tonight, I'd be terrified of them too. Didn't think Tim Curry's Pennywise could be topped...
