Sean Spicer Resigns as White House Press Secretary

quote [ WASHINGTON — Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, resigned on Friday morning, telling President Trump he vehemently disagreed with the appointment of the New York financier Anthony Scaramucci as communications director. ]

I hoped someone would finally stand up to Trump, but I never dreamed it would be Spicer.

Not sure it was standing up as overshooting himself for that House Communications Director job and some sort of protest/silent treatment and holding out for it.

Not sure it was standing up as more likely overshooting himself for that House Communications Director job and some sort of protest/silent treatment and holding out for it.

EDIT:
So it turns out he had that position from January to March. Lost it to Dubke then got it back in June. Then lost it again.

EDIT 2:

You know what? I take it all back.

While at the RNC, Spicer was critical of then Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. In June 2015, after Trump said illegal immigrants from Mexico were involved in crimes in the U.S., Spicer said "painting Mexican Americans with that kind of a brush, I think that's probably something that is not helpful to the cause."[42] In July 2015, he released a public criticism of Trump's comments on U.S. Senator John McCain, saying "there is no place in our party or our country for comments that disparage those who have served honorably."
