Oh I know robotics are a big part of the future....this particular robot is a propaganda tool...I can't cook, and would be a boondoggle for any business who used it.

Well that is wrong they do exists...just not in the same numbers they did when I was in my 20's and 30's...Got news for you they weren't that good of a job...the only reason people even put up with them is that they were ways to live a middle class life.
But remember there was a time that the conveyor belt and factory life was going to be the end of us all? The steam engine before that , every new technology was going to be the end of civilization.

Got news for you it never did. It only opened doors.
The problem is not one of education or technology it is class and power.
You came close to it when you said
"Unions don't exist for young people. "
Those factory jobs you seem to long for were hell holes until people forced the owners to pay a living wage...it wasn't the government who did that it was unions.
There may come a time when automation takes over all the jobs but that time has not come yet. And I doubt it starts with a burger flipper. It is just another way to say do ask for more ...well fuck that. $15 or fight and if there isn't a Union where you work start one.
