It is obvious Bob Dole, even though he won at the time, has lost that fight for the soul of his party. This is a complete departure for the party of Lincoln. There have been dog whistles since the time of Reagan and Buchanan but this is the first full on push into the White Nationalist realm.
To see dyed in the wool conservatives like Joe Scarborough struggle with this show the division inside the GOP. And this blatant move in the last days of this election leaves no doubt as to the motive.

In reference to your post above, I think it's also worth considering the dishonesty evident on this site with regard to the synagogue shooter. To wit:
The oft-repeated fiction that a man who didn’t like Trump, didn’t vote for Trump, and inveighed against him vociferously and at length, is recast as a Trump supporter. Its counterfactual nonsense, simply the rankest of bullshit, but a necessary part of a dark fantasy of imaginary enemies. It accounts for why a cartoon of the current president, posted above, is met with equanimity, but actual footage of the President is met with hostility and erasure.
It’s revealing as hell – and just one of the things that makes this site so great ; )
