The Hero with a Thousand Faces -
Why do we keep telling the same stories over and over?
quote [ A new study suggests that the pleasure of getting an angry reaction is the biggest predictor of online trolling behavior – meaning that the best way to fight back is just to ignore them. ]

And if any of the trolls claim they are looking for a real debate, they aren't. They "debate" until there is a point when there is no rebuttal (aka evidence/facts) and then disappear. Reappearing anew to flame on again. There are normal people here looking for some good, interesting debates and conversations - no need to engage with the intellectually dishonest.

I'll take it that your comment is not simply an attempt at being flippant.
I think the choice of words apt.
“Myopic” is central to the contention that challenging views are unwelcome, specifically those outside “progressive” orthodoxy. This is so obvious it hardly bears mentioning. “Fragile” seems likewise an appropriate term, in that the lashing out in place of argument bespeaks an inherent recognition of the unsureness of one’s position – otherwise why not engage, instead of resorting to bullying, censorship and name-calling.
BTW, make what you will of the moderators childish swipe at my perfectly civil comment above.
I don't need another example, but it was a kind of him to provide one, redundant though it is.
