Satan is coming out of giant hole in Russia

quote [ An urgent expedition will leaves tomorrow to probe a giant crater that has appeared in gas-rich northern Siberia.
Extraordinary aerial images show a mysterious hole which experts say may be up to 262 feet wide, in the Yamal Peninsula of northern Russia. ]

There is probably a mundane explanation for this hole, and we know it's not the first time something like this happens, albeit it happened in an isolated place in the farthest corner of Earth. I would love to the Satan or Chtulhu rising from there. or the UFOs entering the Popocateptl volcano here in Mexico, but my guess is a massive natural gas explotion.

Another big hole in Guatemala.

So, it's not real?.... Shall I bang my head for not figuring that out or what?
ENZ said @ 5:10am GMT on 16th Jul
I'm sure it's real, but everything they have to say about it is sensationalized. "There has been web speculation about the crater indicating 'the arrival of a UFO craft'" Really? This is an important tidbit? What's the source, some random jackass in the comment section?
Dumbledorito said @ 5:48am GMT on 16th Jul
Daily Mail articles are often a bit like urban legends. There's a kernel of truth in there, but you have to separate it out from what's been added on.

Sadly, the fringe believe this is evidence that Yellowstone will soon erupt into a super volcano, whose existence is being suppressed by NOAA, NASA and the USGS in order not to cause panic, but will kill millions of Americans.

The kicker of course is, the volcano is being agitated by the approach of Nibiiru, the giant gas giant whose gravity is affecting the earth and causing train derailments etc...

Nibiru has it's own solar system and is populated by aliens, the angels of the OT... The millions killed are necessary to allow the aliens to take control with the help of the NWO, who will reap the benefits of the interplanetary alliance.
Dumbledorito said @ 10:33pm GMT on 16th Jul
The sheer amount of astronomical phenomena one would have to completely ignore to allow for the existence of a rogue planet near our solar system, let alone a whole OTHER solar system makes anti-vax and chemtrail lunatics seem lazy in their mental gymnastics by comparison.

Of course it's all a cover up by NASA and what have you, in the same way a toddler could cover up a tidal wave hitting Washington, DC.

Funny you say this; in a thread that mentions satan coming out of russia, too...
Russia appears to be busy starting World War 3 in Ukraine just as I'm typing this.
They've been practically openly sending troops and heavy equipment across the border, there's heavy fighting going on, still supposedly between the Ukrainian army and the "pro-Russian separatists", but it appears to be entirely safe to say it is the russian army they are fighting now. With entire Ukrainian army *brigades* *surrounded* and taking heavy losses, from heavy shelling from modern multiple rocket launchers, among other things... no lousy "pro-russian militia" would be quite capable of shit like that.
Uh, this is 1939 folks. Maxing your credit cards maybe a good idea. I would also recommend maybe taking a class on how to hunt radioactive mutant bunny rabbits for food...

And yet, not a word on any of this on cnn. So maybe none of it is happening after all.

ENZ said @ 5:07am GMT on 16th Jul
It's only a world war if other countries get involved. As shitty as the situation is for Ukraine, I don't really see any reason for the US or EU to intervene. They only get involved with "spreading freedom and democracy" when the despots they're fighting can't fight back.
Dumbledorito said @ 5:51am GMT on 16th Jul
Where are they going to get radioactive bunnies for us to practice on? Unless the class is free, I expect better than stuffed animals with glow-in-the-dark paint on them.

Besides, I already know all I need to about survival after the bombs fall. Get power armor training as soon as you can, level up your Speech skill early, melee weapons/attacks are overpowered, and hotkey your stimpaks.
sanepride said @ 12:55pm GMT on 16th Jul
Meh, it's a regional conflict- and a stupid one at that. Nobody- especially Russia- has any interest in expanding it. However, if you must worry over a potential WWIII, look no farther than the Middle East. Personally I think the situation will remain relatively contained, but at least there's the potential of wider conflict and chaos.
sanepride said @ 1:16pm GMT on 16th Jul
*referring specifically to the Iraq/Syria situation. Whole lotta fucked-up down there.

Also, you sound completely uninformed about what is happening in Ukraine.
sanepride said @ 9:26pm GMT on 16th Jul
If by 'typical' you mean not running around in a panic over the sky falling, then yeah, typical.
LL said @ 11:16pm GMT on 16th Jul
Nope. What I meant by typical is that western media seems to think that the only important news story is what happens in the middle east, and most get led by the nose right to the arab israeli conflict - Or the Iraqi uprising because you know, oil, terrorism, etc. Keep us focused on that so that we forget the real issues. A never ending conflict.

You underestimate what the Ukraine - Russia conflict represents, but that doesn't surprise me.

I'll go back to lurking.

But it was hard not to - seeing how it was about Russia and the impending doom/apocalypse.
That said, I wasn't totally trolling. The shit that's going down there is serious. And it's been freaking me out, for real. It is a regional conflict alright, at this point. I can, unfortunately, see how it can blow up further.

Anyway, you totally win, it's not 1939.
We are still in 1938 at this point.
LL said @ 11:18pm GMT on 16th Jul
We'll see how far Putin wants to go. Russia is a giant gas station, and what happens when Europe's demand increases when the economy grows is another story. Not to mention the $40B deal Russia has with China. Naw, this isn't a global issue.
rhesusmonkey said @ 2:23pm GMT on 17th Jul
Speaking of China, the whole "unilateral air defense zone" combined with Japan's "we're ending official pacifist stance, but we'll only help our allies" has me worried too.

May not be WW3, but you may have a few concurrent unrelated conflicts, where effectively the World (or First World) will be at War. Same diff IMO.
Dumbledorito said @ 7:33pm GMT on 17th Jul
Except with economic interests being all-important these days (since the corporatists are basically buying their respective governments), I'd say the only reasons left to go to war among the first (and second?) world powers would be for resources or if the economic interests were going down the shitter anyway (due to unrest, resource depletion, embargos, etc).
