Hyperandrogenism and women vs women vs men in sport.

quote [ I do not believe that women with hyperandrogenism should be competing unregulated. I believe that the divide between men and women exists precisely to ensure fairness in competition (as far as this is ever possible), and I think that if you respect that division, then a policy that addresses hyperandrogenism must exist. ]

I think that this addresses my concerns about transgender athletes. The woman responsible for the above quote describes herself as "describes herself as a 'scientist first, an athlete second, and a transgender person third'."

I apologise if the topic has been beaten to death but I found this article refreshing and informative.

The whole idea of separate competitions for men and women (in sports) is, at its core, based on physical ability. Transgender athletes may or may not transcend the competing gender (advantage).

You'd really have to redefine the qualifying sports criterias. Weight class is already part of several sporting events.

But that's no fun. You'll end up like The Guinness Book of Records.

At least there'd be Guinness, Harp and Jameson's Whisky...
