quote [ Regular exercise in middle age is the best lifestyle change a person can make to prevent cognitive decline in their later years, a 20-year study finds. ]
My mum went into serious decline after she and my dad stopped walking and bought a car to get around. They would walk about a mile and a half down and most of the way up a hill that was about a 60% grade. And they were, at the time, in their 80's! She was fine until they stopped the strenuous exercise and she got worse and died within 3 years.
