quote [ Loren Stump from California has created a ?loaf? of glass that, when sliced, reveal a painstakingly detailed work of art in cross-section. ]
I would not have the patience, or precision for this.

The making of little flowers in a paperweight is difficult (and pretty) enough, but how do you do that painting reproduction?

I assume by using the same techniques. Use long, skinny rods of colored glass to make each part of the scene separately, then put the parts together.

It's weird with these How It's Made shows. Here in the US, we have a guy narrator in all the episodes. In Europe, like this clip, it's a girl narrator.
Did they have a run through and test data (audience preferred this or that voice) with these and optioned to have a woman or man narrator during syndication? |

Link's borked. Look like you have an extra "http" at the front?

Damnit. I fucking checked, I swear. AND deleted the http:// that already gets thrown in the form. WARGH. But it should be fixed now. Thanks for the head's up.

I have a vague suspicion that it sometimes adds the extra http again after you make other changes.

This is just like those taffies with Christmas trees, etc. in them. It doesn't say, but since glass is ductile, I wonder if he makes them the same way by making the image large then drawing it out to the smaller size.
