Is this actually Demonoid, or another instance of "We (somehow) have part of Demonoid's database"?

It's the real deal I think. WhenI logged in with my old acct I still had my ratio intact. Unless they bought the db, but that would be odd.

Nice to see open registration. Originally got an invite from someone on the old SE, that log-in credential is lost to the ages. |

My question is, how do we know that the MPAA isn't running it? How legit is this? Hmmmm....

That's what I was wondering the first time it came back online about a year ago or so.

I accidentally hit an old link and went there. It still had all my login info. I just kept it quiet. |

What has everyone else been using in the meantime? I get most of my torrents from piratebay, and the rest from kickass.

My ISP blocks piratebay, so I've been looking in google's cache of the piratebay website for torrents. But in general I've decided that pirating commercial content isn't worth the risk any more, especially as most of it is rubbish anyway.

I used to use radioarchive.cc for BBC radio torrents, but they were hacked and the people running it gave it up.

Now it's eztv.it for any TV shows I forgot to DVR and torrentz.ch/ for anything specific I want to find. |

I read this because I must know all things internet. The fact that I have never heard of demonoid really pisses me off. (I still don't know what it is. Like, uh, napster? Like iTunes for free?)

It's a bittorrent tracker. You find torrents there.

Been up for a while, but something with IPv6 borks the search function for some people (including me). I've been able to get it to work a few times by changing the settings on my router (either enabling or disabling iPv6) but at best that's been only about a 1 time use thing. As soon as I close my browser it stops working again.

The scrapes are reporting 0 seeds and 0 leechers for every torrent I'm seeing. I haven't tried accessing any. Is this the same for everyone?

According to their forums the tracker isn't updating the stats on the site. Try downloading something anyway, it'll probably work.
