The jackalope is real and very sad. It is a papilloma virus for rabbits. The warts end up looking like horns or antlers potentially, but it will ultimately kill the rabbit.
Chupacabra? Also real, but it's just a coyote with sarcoptic mange. Or a partially decayed racoon by a stream that one time. Jersey devil? Barn owl. Cryptids are one of my special interests. People don't take the field seriously because they think it's all mythical animals, but it also includes animals we thought were extinct or that are found well outside their known range. What is a normal animal to you could be a cryptid if I found it naturally occurred in my region this whole time and we just never noticed. |
