Wish I could vote +1 sad - it's terrible to read what these men went through as a result of the head injuries they experienced playing football.

I quit watching college football. I'd like to quit watching pro football too, but I know my gestures are futile, and I don't know how to make American male smalltalk if I don't have a passing knowledge of the NFL.
At least in the NFL, one could argue the players can make rational decisions to get paid very well, trading years off of their lives for wealth for themselves and their loved ones. But in college, it's barbaric. They don't get paid, but it's rationalized that they get a free education, even though they are literally destroying their brains for our entertainment. |
