Inside The Culture Of Sexism At Riot Games

quote [ One man who worked with Riot’s senior leadership had his own explanation for why women say they have a hard time advancing at the company. “Women are shunned because [men] want to be able to make their gross female jokes,” he said. “They want a group of people they can control.” Letting more women into Riot’s tight circle of senior leadership might make the culture less like a “fraternity,” he theorized. ]

Indeed gross. Compared to these accounts, stories like the Atari memories are definitely less creepy. Here`s Philippa Warr on an earlier account.

I'm shocked -- shocked! -- to hear that a game for toxic assholes is made by toxic assholes.

Nevermind the 6 months of research that went into it. It's hosted on a site that reddit hates, so it must be worthless, right?

So, are people truly shocked to find out that sexism is alive and well in the 21st century?

Hm, if I understand these journalists right, it's about making a point whenever someone comes up with: “But it's not –that– bad, right?” (see above)
