Neat. I've always enjoyed the cartography of fictional lands and such, especially if it's well thought-out and designed. I've spent hours perusing over the maps of Middle-earth and Krynn (even had a big book dedicated to the latter's cartography once upon a time).

[Score:3 Underrated]
That would be Karen Wynn Fonstad (https://www.amazon.com/Atlas-Dragonlance-World-Books/dp/0880384484)... I still have my copy of the Krynn one and the Forgotten Realms one. Good stuff.
Making maps for my D&D is how I found my way into being a graphic designer. I have nothing but love for this kind of stuff and still do cartography as a hobby to this day for my campaign. Edit: This is VERY old and VERY rough, but here you go: http://www.candlekeep.com/library/articles/evereska.htm http://www.candlekeep.com/library/maps.htm (search under Arravis) I've gotten much better, but I've purposely not posted for several reasons... long story. |

That would be the book!
Once upon a geeky childhood, I made this HUGE map (it covered the living room floor), using copies of the smaller hex paper provided with the D&D Companion Set. I went through SO many markers. It was a long process, but I had a lot of fun doing it. Creating a game world can be quite fulfilling. |
