I've never actually seen one, but it seems like these types of fan-edited movies are pretty popular these days, but they're always getting taken down for copyright violation. It seems like a possible workaround might be a specialized media player that loads one or more media files along with a set of editing instructions, i.e., "play this series of frames from movie A, then that series of frames from movie B." The editor would distribute just those instructions, which the view would load into the media player along with their own (wink, wink) legitimately obtained copies of the appropriate movies to be edited.
