So does anyone get "They Live" vibes from all these drones and such?

These aren't even drones, if you could all it that. They are car size. There are non-smartphone photos that show propeller blades and FAA-approved lights which appear to be a Northrop Grumman MQ-8C fire scout.
There are lots of actual drones being in DC near the Capitol and White House at night. There are also lots of take-offs of military aircrafts on the east coast with fast ascent to unrestricted military airspace towards Europe.
Government hasn't said anything, but it's probably by design. With the escalation with Ukraine-Russia and Assad leaving Syria, I wouldn't be surprised these are related.
