I have one of these Silvertones from the Sears catalogue, easily my favorite acoustic. Only a Gibson from the same era came close.

I have one of these 1952 Silvertones from the Sears catalogue, easily my favorite acoustic, bought for 140$. Only a Gibson from the same era came close, being sold for 2400$. There's no trussrod in the neck, but it's straight and not too thick, still taking some wrestling to get her to speak, she needs some slapping around which adds to the character of tone. Best for songs of struggle played by strong hands.
