A good question. However, as I understand it, simply transmitting information from one location to another takes many orders of magnitude less energy than the hardcore entropy busting involved in bitcoin mining.

A good question. However, as I understand it, simply transmitting information from one location to another takes many orders of magnitude less energy than the hardcore entropy busting involved in bitcoin mining. And the algorithms involved in trading are far less energy dissipating.
