That's an absurd assertion, and it flies in the face of common sense and is demonstrably false.
The majority of the prison population is there for violent crimes.
Year in and year out, that's far and away the largest category.

The crimes the bulk of the prison have population committed - murder, manslaughter, and rape/sexual assault, are overwhelming committed by men. And not because they have to the types of jobs that would allow them to commit the crimes.
