quote [ In a cramped apartment in East New York, the artist Takeshi Yamada lives among his strange creations. ]

He means well with his taxidermy smile

Neat. Kinda related: I thought Jackalopes were real till I was about 28 or so. Saw a picture of one or a rabbit with antlers when I was kid and nobody told me they weren't real. I though that that's what a jack rabbit was. My wife is a biologist so I asked her about them one day for some reason. She told me they weren't real. I was like (smug) "you don't know what a jackalope is? Why let me inform you of these wonderful creatures." I thought I was going to show her something cool. She pulled up the Wikipedia article and it was like learning Santa Claus was fictional.

I never thought to research them myself. I still thought of them though. I had come up with a whole idea that the antlers were evolved somehow and that rabbits must have some kind of vestigial genes for antlers. Even that some might have vestigial bumps on their heads that would be like tails on humans. Do they use them for defense or for mating rituals. Apparently none of that because THEY AREN'T REAL. :
