President Obama essentially talks about the rise of nationalism

From today.

He pretty much brought up Nazi Germany...
I think he looks very worried. More than worried. Scared.

I suspect the complete unpreparedness of the Trump administration probably also contributed to his fear and worry. Trump apparently had no idea that essentially the entire Whitehouse Executive staff would be walking out on January 20th.

Trump isn't someone who does any actual work. He bullies his brand onto something and then usually leaves it to rot once he's gotten money from it or whatever it is lumbers along without going bankrupt by dumb luck or accident.

I worry this will give the cadre of grifters, con men, and lunatics he's assembling carte blanche to do whatever they want, much like was done under Bush II when it came to the NSA and the War on Terror. Only now, it'll be every part of the government.

It's bad enough when an ideologue is in charge, but when someone who doesn't give a shit about the Presidency beyond more than an extension of his brand, that's a real recipe for chaos.

Usually the many, small West Wing offices are packed to capacity for communication efficiency, with lots of bleed over to the executive office building. I wonder if Trump will tear out a bunch of walls to give a much smaller staff much bigger offices where not much actually gets done.

I'm more concerned that Trump will be run by Republican led House and Senate and will act as a puppet for Pence. It's reminiscent of Bush/Cheney. In this case Trump will con himself into believing that, as usual, he has his underlings doing all the hard work, so as to preserve his ego and sense of importance.

Losing both Houses is bad, but what makes this so awful is that we'll lose the Supreme Court. The selected SC will have control for a generation, and their decisions will affect generations to come.

Isn't that basically what I said? Trump is so clueless and has his head so far up his own ass, those below him will be able to do whatever they want to so long as Trump gets to play President and promote himself.

Chaos would be a step up. I think this will be well-organized.
