quote [ Interactive map that displays a rolling 7 day river gauge record.
Currently covering 12 nations. ] Any suggestions?
What's the point..... heck would like to colour code the the pins in relation to the water level, allows easy visual of areas in flood or drought. But first need to make it before can assign the colour coding.

Some fetch no telemetry data but I guess it's not fully completed yet.

That they do.
Majority of countries I pulled the full catalogue of gauges, even if no current telem. Have a refinement layer that removes any without current 7-day data, but yea looking at integrating before, pretty-ing it up. Honestly need to refine the XY co-ords to GPS (for countries like Netherlands) to get the points as accurate as possible before the rest of the prettyness. Speaking of which, why is Sweden not updating; need to check those logs. Plus trying to be a good Netizen and sitting on my hands/holding off on pushing Brazil and some other places, until I hopefully get an API. Or anyone want to listen as a rant about, yea the API v2.0 is great and all Singapore but only transmit telem during an active event. It's a pretty niche hobby/tism so probably not. |

Yeah, that's a lot of dots of one color. Might wanna color code it centered around sea level with a emergency red or something for when it's historically out of pattern. Or something.

I was hoping to integrate color coded pins like I have for the original Australia map, but was concentrating on trying to get the gauges reading and recording before moving onto the color coding.
Also have found trying to collate the Flood and Drought levels is not as easy as finding the gauge data. Would be alot easier if they packed that into the json payloads. Note the Coloorize Catchment checkbox, pretty much only works in Germany out of the box how I was hoping (color each rivercatchment a seperate color). |

Ah, yeah Germany does look better like that. Hmm. Is there a single source for the rivers available that you could use to overlay them as a heatmap maybe?🤔 I'm thinking like arcgis or something along those lines but at a global level. I used leaflet recently for a personal project drawing property lines around specific plots, so that's where my heads at.

Catchment/Basin GeoJSON and shapefiles.
Same as need to refine a few different overlays, something that removes excess gauges and lays the "standard" short-form gauges that relay details with reduced gauges. So refine the ~30,000 down to what might be displayed on the National News. Get the data ingesting and see what can be done with it as I work on it. Like the heat-map idea, I picture splitting a catchment into teh upper, mid, lower could select country, have other drop-down that would then be that countries river systems and catchment plains (selecting would color code the basin area and highlight the gauges in that system). |

On a side note, anyone collated a geo-json or shape file that indicates the Indigenous "Owners" across the whole globe, on check-box on the to-do list is to integrate that across the whole globe too.

Muchly appreciated.
+ ~28000 gauges now have an ingested Indigenous Data reference. Thanks for that. Saved me some time, which allowed me to get some more countries ingesting. |

Noice. Good luck with your ingesting!

Haven't tied the colored dots to the levels as of yet.
Still trying to source all the data before adding that tick box. But swapped color mode to country at the moment, hope to se via river-basin nback in the future. Added some json data points and improved the load times depending and speed connection (still need to tar.gz those json). Slowly coming along. |
After finding an R package, some more research lead me to RivRetrieve-PYTHON. After failed attempts, been constructing custom ingest scripts to acquire the data from open-source government sources.
