I've known 3 separate people who have had some brilliant idea for some educational software, 2 self-funded & 1 somehow got some VC for startups. All 3 thought there was some unheard-of pot of gold in the education system just waiting for them to claim it. All flopped hard building these SaaS offerings, and expected schools to sign gladly for a quarter to half million per school per year.
